After re-launching the Float Controller CI Basis in June 2015 and introducing the Float Controller SI onto the market in September 2015, PADCON is presenting a further milestone in the fight against PID at the PV Symposium in Bad Staffelstein – the Float Controller CI 30.

This new “PID Killer” combines the two former product groups, Float Controller CI Pro and Float Controller CI Basis, thus providing effective protection from PID and TCO, depending on the operating mode, in one device.

“We are pleased that, in line with the principle of “one fits all”, we are now able to offer a solution for almost every type of module with the Float Controller CI 30 The customer chooses between night or day mode of the device with a dip-switch, depending on whether thin-film modules or polycrystalline modules are to be protected” states Constantin Wenzlik, Managing Director of PADCON GmbH. “As with the previous models, this device is also connected in parallel to the DC-cord. Thanks to this set-up, there is no need for an elaborate separation of the PV-field from the inverter when the PID Killer is in operation and the cost of installation is therefore reduced to a minimum”, Wenzlik continues.

With an output current of 30mA, the Float Controller CI 30 is the perfect solution for almost all of the central inverters available on the market. Together with a multi-connector, up to 8 MPPT can be supplied individually. “This combination is particularly ideal for inverters with different power units and several MPPTs”, enthuses Wenzlik.

PADCON is already announcing for Q2/2016 the introduction of the most powerful PID Killer to date. With 70mA and therefore more than twice as much output power as its “little brother”, this device will even be able to supply plants with the largest central inverters.
